Months after the release of John Wick 3: Parabellum, little by little, the future of the franchise is gaining some news. And among them, the most recent involves a change in the release of John Wick 4.
In a recent social media post, Lionsgate revealed that the new feature in the franchise starring Keanu Reeves would no longer be released in 2021. The latest release date for John Wick 4 is now set to May 27, 2022.
Remember that the official postponement of John Wick 4 comes shortly after director Chad Stahelski confirmed that the film would not be ready to be released on May 21, 2021. Two reasons led to such a postponement: the first is the current situation of the coronavirus pandemic, with the second being the fact that Keanu Reeves still needs to finish filming Matrix 4, which is expected to happen only in late 2020.

While the first feature film in the John Wick franchise grossed about $ 14.4 million in its 2014 premiere, the second film doubled sales over the weekend by debuting with $ 30.4 million in 2017. For its part, the most recent film raised US $ 56.8 million in the USA alone, with a worldwide total of around US $ 93 million at the box office.
Halle Berry (X-Men) is one of the protagonists of John Wick 3 alongside Keanu Reeves (Matrix) as the character Sofia.
The cast of the last film also featured Anjelica Huston (The Adams Family), Asia Kate Dillon (Orange Is the New Black), Mark Dacascos (The Pact of Wolves), and Jason Mantzoukas (The Dictator) are also in the cast. Also, Yayan Ruhian (Star Wars: The Force Awakens ), Cecep Arif Rahman (The Raid 2: Berandal) and Tiger Hu Chen (The Tai Chi Man) were also part of the project.
Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne and Lance Reddick reprised their roles in the third feature in the franchise.
