After the announcement of the version of the Justice League by Zack Snyder has gained high prominence in the media over the past few days due to its release in 2021, the film Suicide Squad also returned to be quoted on social networks.
It turns out that since the announcement in question, director David Ayer has been responding to many comments from his followers about his original version of the feature, of which he has previously commented that it was changed before it hit theatres.
When a fan asked if his version might not be released due to legal issues, the filmmaker then replied:
“It just isn’t my decision. I love Warner Bros. – it has always been my’ home studio’.I fully respect and support the incredible path that DCU is taking under its management. My Suicide Squad cut can always just be a rumour. And that’s fine”.
But after all, is there any chance for David Ayer’s version of the Suicide Squad?
Although the director is responding to fans with high frequency, and even reposting messages in support of a #ReleaseTheAyerCut campaign, much believe that the project may not be launched due to the film starring the Suicide Squad being directed by James Gunn.
As is well known, Gunn’s project will assume the mission of reinventing the group, detaching itself from the original, thus being able to serve as a soft reboot for the group of mercenaries in cinemas.
However, there is some smoke rolling in on another twitter account. That’s because the official AT&T account, which owns Warner Media, including Warner Bros. Pictures and HBO Max, has been responding to fans with gifs of Ayer’s film. And in one of them, he even says that “anything is possible”.
